64243. ROSS ELDON STOLTZ
Ross Eldon Stoltz was born 27 January 1916 at Girard, Kansas, is the son of Harmon Stoltz and Emma Price Wagonner. See Number 6424. When Ross was four years old, his family moved from Girard, Kansas, to Bentonville, Arkansas. Ross left home at age fourteen and went to California where he worked on a ranch for one-and-one-half years. He then returned to Bentonville. At age seventeen, he married Juanita Hanson of Bentonville. He and his bride moved to Idaho where Ross worked on a farm. In 1937 he and Juanita divorced. There were no children from their marriage.
Ross Stoltz married second Faye Elizabeth Robinson 29 June 1939. Fay Robinson was born 13 January 1922 at Brumley, Missouri. Her father was Oscar Monroe Robinson, born 29 February 1880 in Miller County, Missouri, and her mother was Emma Alice Patton, born 31 March 1876 in Miller County, Missouri. Oscar Robinson was a farmer. Oscar and Emma Robinson had six children: (may not be listed in order of age) (1) Hazel (King), (2) Fern (Bryant), (3) Waymon, (4) Bethel (Stampeiz), (5) *Faye Elizabeth (Stoltz), and (6) Welford. In 1975 Oscar Robinson was still living in Miller County, Missouri. Emma died 29 January 1957; burial at Gott Cemetery, Brumley, Missouri.
Ross Stoltz enlisted in the U. S. Navy Construction Battalion at LaGrange, Oregon, and served in the Aleutian Islands. Upon his discharge in June 1945, Ross went to Reno, Nevada, where he worked as foreman of a construction company. In 1947 Ross obtained a state contractor's license. That same year he and Faye Elizabeth were divorced. In 1959 he was appointed chief building inspector for the county, a position which he held until 1970. He now owns and operates a mobile home park. Ross resides at Reno, Nevada. He and Faye had an only child.

64244. ROBERT ALEXANDER STOLTZ
Robert Alexander Stoltz was born 8 October 1919 at Girard, Crawford County, Kansas, is the son of Harmon Stoltz and Emma Price Waggoner. See Number 6424. Robert was about one year old when his family moved from Kansas to Bentonville, Arkansas. He lived here on a farm until his early teens. In the early thirties his family moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where they lived with Robert's older brother, Lester. Robert enlisted in the U. S. Amy when he was sixteen years old. He left the service in 1939 and began the study of refrigeration and air-conditioning. When World War II broke out, he became involved in plant construction. Later he worked for Douglas Aircraft Corporation, Tulsa, Oklahoma, in aircraft production and planning. In 1944 he enlisted again in the Army. He was discharged in 1946 with the rank of First Lieutenant.
Robert Stoltz married Helen Mae Winberg 16 May 1941 at Tulsa, Oklahoma. Helen Winberg was born 16 June 1923 at Columbia, Missouri. Helen's father was Arthur Lyle Winberg, born 13 September 1897 in Filmore County, Nebraska, and her mother was Helen Beatrice Hill, born 10 August 1901 at Chariton City, Missouri. Arthur Winberg was a brick mason. He and Helen lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Phoenix, Arizona. Arthur died 13 July 1953; burial at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Helen resides at Dixon, Illinois. She, too, is a member of the Methodist Church. Arthur and Helen Winberg had two children: (1) *Helen Mae (Stoltz) and (2) Bonnie Louise (Bliss).
In 1948 Robert and his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, hoping for a more healthful climate for his wife Helen. Here Robert was employed by the Airesearch Manufacturing Company as a production engineering analyst. On 2 January 1968 after a prolonged illness, Helen passed away. Burial is at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona.
Robert Stoltz married second Ruby (Humphries) Childers 27 December 1969 at Phoenix, Arizona. Ruby had been a friend of Robert's family for some time. She is employed as a secretary at the Airesearch Company. Ruby was married first to Paul Childers. They had no children. Ruby (Childers) was born 4 May 1927 at New Boston, Ohio. She is a member of the United Brethren Church. Ruby's father was Gabe R. Humphries, born 2 November 1883 in Carter County, Kentucky, and her mother was Minnie Conley, born 19 February 1887 in Carter County, Kentucky. Gabe Humphries resided in Minford, Ohio. He was a carpenter. He and Minnie were members of the Methodist Church. Both are buried at Minford, Ohio. Gabe and Minnie Humphries had six children: (1) Ottis Lawhorn (half-brother and deceased), (2) Earl, (3) Garnet (Stevens), (4) Kathleen, (5) Culp, (6) Harold, and (7) *Ruby (Stoltz).
Robert and Ruby Stoltz reside at Phoenix, Arizona. They have no children. Robert and his first wife Helen had three children all born at Tulsa, Oklahoma.

64245. BETTY JEAN STOLTZ
Betty Jean Stoltz was born 5 February 1922 at Bentonville, Arkansas, is the daughter of Harmon Stoltz and Emma Price Waggoner. See Number 6424. At the age of less than ten years, Betty's parents were divorced and at age thirteen she left the home farm at Bentonville, Arkansas, and went to live with her sister Geraldine (Stoltz) James at Tulsa, Oklahoma. Here she attended and graduated from high school. When her younger brother, Richard, left home, her mother also left the farm and went to Tulsa where she found employment.
Betty Jean Stoltz married James Robert Meredith 1 February 1941 at Bentonville, Arkansas. James Meredith was born 16 August 1920 at Blytheville, Arkansas. James was adopted 6 December 1923 by Fred L. Meredith, born 1 July 1873 at Franklin, Illinois, and Bertha Estella Langley, born 19 August 1884 at Neosho, Missouri. They were members of the Methodist Church. Fred Meredith was owner of a grocery and dry goods store. The Merediths resided at Tulsa, Oklahoma. James Robert Meredith was born Lewis Blane Arkland at Blytheville, Arkansas. When he was adopted by Fred and Bertha Meredith, they renamed him James Robert Meredith -- a name he has legally kept. Fred L. Meredith died 30 January 1966 and Bertha died 20 May 1969; burial at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
James Meredith's biological father was Fred L. Arkland of Blytheville, Arkansas. James' mother died young and his father placed him in an orphan home at Little Rock, Arkansas, and signed papers for adoption. When James was a young man, he began to search for his natural parents. He found the name 'Arkland' in Denver, Colorado, and this person was his second cousin. Through him he finally located his father living in Fairbury, Nebraska. James was also able to locate his mother's parents, uncles and aunts. James visited his father on several occasions. Fred Arkland was a painter. He died 4 November 1953; burial at Fairbury, Nebraska. James' natural mother was Docie Deal who died 31 March 1923; burial at Blytheville, Arkansas. Docie Deal was first married to a Westbrook. Fred and Docie (Westbrook) Arkland had two children: (1) Mary Lou (Thomas) and (2) James Robert Meredith.
James and Betty Meredith live at Tulsa, Oklahoma. They are members of the Methodist Church. James is a banker and an attorney-at-law. Betty is a homemaker. James and Betty Meredith had three sons all born at Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Joseph Blaine Meredith was born 1 March 1947 at Tulsa, Oklahoma is the son of James Robert Meredith and Betty Jean Stoltz. See Number 64245. Joseph was graduated from the Tulsa High School and then attended the University of Tulsa.
Joseph Meredith married Carolyn Faye Helsley 18 November 1971. Carolyn has always been called 'Carol'. Her father is Henry Marshall Phelps Helsley, born at Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, and her mother is Lois Etta Johnson, born at Tahlequah, Oklahoma. They live at Coweta, Oklahoma. They had six children: (1) Marshall Pay, (2) Donald Green, (3) Linda, (4) *Carol Faye (Meredith), (5) Henry Jr., and (6) Pearl.
Joseph and Carol Meredith live at Tulsa, Oklahoma. Joseph is self-employed and Carol is a homemaker. They have two children both born at Tulsa.

64246. RICHARD EDWIN STOLTZ
Richard Edwin Stoltz was born 11 June 1924 near Bentonville, Arkansas, is the son of Harmon Stoltz and Emma Price Waggoner. See Number 6424. When Richard was about six years of age his parents divorced. His father went west and his mother continued to live on the farm and take care of Richard and his older sister Betty. In 1934 Richard and his mother went to live with her eldest son Lester. Some months later they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to be with her daughter Geraldine James. When World War II broke out, Richard was drafted. He was an aerial gunner in the Army Air Force.
Richard Stoltz married Opal Pearl Cowden 2 November 1943 at Victoria, Texas. Opal Cowden was born 30 October 1925 at Dale, Texas. Her father is Blake Beverly Cowden, born 12 December 1897 at Coleman, Texas, and her mother is Velma December White, born 28 December 1903 at Tilmon, Texas. They are members of the Southern Baptist Church. Blake Cowden was an employee of the Sun Oil Company At Victoria, Texas, where he and Velma reside. They had two children: (1) Velton Blake and (2) Opal Pearl (Stoltz).
In 1946 Richard was discharged from the Armed Services. He then went to work for the Sun Oil Company at Victoria, Texas. At age thirty-nine Richard suffered a heart attack. He is now retired and enjoys traveling and wood-working projects. (The love for carpentry and wood-working seems to be an inherent characteristic of the Stoltz family.) Richard is an ordained deacon in the Southern Baptist Church and is a member of the Masonic Symbolic Lodge and a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason. Opal is also a member of the Southern Baptist Church. Richard and Opal reside at Ada, Oklahoma. Richard and Opal Stoltz had two children born at Victoria, Victoria County, Texas.

Frances Stoltz was born 27 August 1885 near Golden Gate, Wayne County, Illinois, was the daughter of Andrew Stoltz and Josephine Seitz. See Number 642. Frances was always called 'Fannie'. She attended Beech Bluff grade school and the Presbyterian Church at Old Union near Golden Gate, Illinois.
Fannie Stoltz married Charles Henry Moore 18 July 1902 in Wayne County, Illinois. Charles Moore was born 8 February 1885 at Browns, Illinois. His father was John N. Moore, born 2 June 1864 in Edwards County, Illinois, and his mother was Susan Williams, born 2 December 1865 in Richland County, Ill. John and Susan Moore lived at Albion, Illinois. John died in July 1939 and Susan died 29 March 1965. Burial is at the Graceland Cemetery, Albion, Ill. John and Susan Moore had seven children: (1) *Charles Henry, (2) David, (3) Ella, (4) Byran, (5) Ollie, (6) Oscar, and (7) Grover.
Charles and Fannie Moore lived at Fairfield, Illinois. They were members of the Methodist Church. Charles died 11 December 1974 and Fannie died 24 August 1952. Burial is at Maple Hill Cemetery, Fairfield, Illinois. Charles and Fannie Moore had two children :

Mabel Moore was born 24 November 1903 near Golden Gate, Wayne County, Illinois, is the daughter of Charles Henry Moore and Fannie Stoltz. See Number 6425.
Mabel Moore married Noval E. Talbert 22 June 1940 at St. Louis, Missouri. Noval Talbert was born 9 July 1898 in Wayne County, Illinois. Noval's father was Benjamin Craig Talbert, born 1 July 1855 at Greenville, Kentucky, and his mother was Ada Clara Scudamore, born 15 April 1861. Benjamin and Ada Talbert lived near Wayne City, Illinois. They were members of the Methodist Church. Benjamin was a farmer. He died 18 September 1944 and Ada died 1 February 1945; burial at Hopewell Cemetery, Wayne County, Illinois. Benjamin and Ada Talbert had five children: (1) Myrtle (Sanford), (2) Joseph C., (3) Leslie, (4) Dessie (Johnson), and (5) *Noval E.

Clifford Moore married Ruth Ann Kendall 25 November 1924 in Wayne County, Illinois. Ruth Kendall was born 8 March 1907 in Wayne County, Illinois. Ruth's father was John Leonard Kendall, born 2 October 1862 in Orange County, Indiana, and her mother was Mary Jane Stockinger, born 3 August 1864 in Orange County, Indiana. John and Mary Kendall lived near Fairfield, Illinois. John died 29 May 1937 and Mary died 14 November 1920; burial at Bethel Cemetery, Wayne County, Illinois.

Addie Stoltz married Charles Daniel Leet in 1920 in Wayne County, Illinois. Charles Leet was born 10 June 1889 near Golden Gate, Illinois. Charles' father was Charles Russell Leet, born 20 February 1869 in Wabash County, Ill., and his mother was Ona Frances Williams, born near Golden Gate, Illinois. Charles and Ona Leet lived at Grayville, Illinois. They had an only child: (1) *Charles Daniel. Charles and Ona were divorced in 1938. Charles Russell Leet married second Laura Wilmeth Foreman, born 6 December 1879 in Richland County, Illinois. Laura died in 1952 and Charles died 17 September 1955; burial is at Oak Grove Cemetery, Grayville, Illinois.

She was the daughter of John Harry Xanders and Helen Keen. She was a first cousin once removed to Charles' first wife, Addie Stoltz. Shortly after their marriage, Charles and Laura moved to Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Here Charles was a button-cutter. Charles and Laura were divorced in 1938. Charles Leet died 20 January 1958; burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Grayville, Illinois. Charles and Laura Leet had an only child from their marriage.

Charles Andrew Leet was born 28 September 1921 at Chebanse, Iroquois County, Illinois, is the son of Charles Daniel Leet and Addie Stoltz. See Number 6426.
Charles Leet left Chebanse, Illinois, and went west. He married Hermine Jo Janssen 15 May 1943 at Lawton, Oklahoma. Hermine Janssen was born 15 February 1924 at Lyons, Kansas. Her father was Irvin Heye Janssen, born 16 May 1896 at Lorraine, Kansas, and her mother is Retta Adith Meyer, born 7 December 1895 at Lyons, Kansas. Irvin and Retta Janssen lived at Lyons, Kansas. Irvin was a farmer. He died 18 November 1944; burial at Graceland Cemetery, Lyons, Kansas. Irvin was a member of the Methodist Church. Retta lives at Lyons and is also a member of the Methodist Church. Irvin and Retta Janssen had three children: (1) Marjorie Loretta (Dickerson), (2) *Hermine Jo (Leet), and (3) Dwain Meyer.
Charles and Hermine Leet live at Dodge City, Kansas. They are members of the Methodist Church. Charles is a merchant and Hermine is a homemaker. They had two sons.

6427. ORA STOLTZ
Ora Stoltz was born 22 February 1892 near Golden Gate, Wayne County, Ill., is the daughter of Andrew Stoltz and Josephine Seitz. See Number 642. Ora attended the Beech Bluff rural school near her home and the Ebenezer Methodist Church.
Ora Stoltz married Merritt LaFayette Moore 28 December 1906 in Wayne County, Illinois. Merritt Moore was born 27 March 1888 in Cook County, Kentucky. Merritt's father was Thomas LaFayette Moore, born 4 January 1856 in 'Wayne County, Illinois, and his mother was Cornelia Alice London, born 17 March 1857. They were from Butler County, Kentucky and settled near Marshall, Illinois. Thomas was a farmer. He had a brother John who was a bishop in the Methodist Church at Dallas, Texas. Thomas died 10 March 1943 and Cornelia died 29 June 1934. They were members of the Ebenezer Methodist Church and are buried at the Ebenezer Cemetery, Wayne County, Illinois. Thomas and Cornelia Moore had several children--five to reach adulthood and several to die in infancy: (1) Sophia, (2) George, (3) Victoria, (4) *Merritt LaFayette, (5) Richard, and (6) John.
Ora (Stoltz) Moore died 1 August 1922 as the result of an auto accident. Ora's car was thrown into the Little Wabash River when part of a wooden bridge collapsed when she was driving over it. Her two daughters, Nona and Veda who were with her, were thrown clear with only minor injuries. Ora was unable to escape the car and was drowned. She is buried at Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery, Wayne County, Illinois. She was a member of the Ebenezer Church.
Merritt and Ora Moore had seven children.

Moore had an only child, Marion Frances Moore born about 1924 or 1925 near Golden Gate, Illinois. Merritt and Denia were divorced and Denis. was given custody of Marion Frances. Merritt married a third time and later went to California to live. Merritt Moore died 19 October 1958. He was a member of the Ebenezer Methodist Church near Golden Gate, Illinois, and is buried by his wife, Ora (Stoltz) Moore at the Ebenezer Church Cemetery.

64274. NONA MARIE MOORE
Nona Marie Moore was born 9 February 1913 near Golden Gate, Wayne County, Illinois, is the daughter of Merritt LaFayette Moore and Ora Stoltz. See Number 6427. Nona was only nine years old when her mother drowned in the Little Wabash River near her home in Wayne County, Illinois, due to the collapse of the bridge when she was crossing it in a car.
Upon the death of her mother, Nona lived with her grandparents Thomas and Cornelia Moore for eight to ten years. Later, Nona lived some time with her cousin Susie Sharp, daughter of Franklin Stoltz, a brother to Nona's grandfather, Andrew Stoltz. When Nona was seventeen years of age she went to Michigan to live with her Uncle John Moore.

Edwin Schaffer was a railroad yardmaster. Edwin and Olive Schaffer had three children: (1) *Emmitt Edwin, (2) Edwin Warren, and (3) Donald Glen. Edwin Schaffer died 27 April 1953 and Olive died 21 June 1948. They are buried at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan.

Veda Alberta Moore was born 24 September 1920 near Golden Gate, Wayne County, Illinois, is the daughter of Merritt LaFayette Moore and Ora Stoltz. See Number 6427. Veda Moore was only two years old when her mother was drowned, caused by a bridge collapse over the Little Wabash River. Upon the death of her mother, Veda and her sister Nona were taken care of by their grandparents, Thomas and Cornelia Moore. When Veda was about ten years of age, she and her sister Nona went to Michigan to be with her Uncle John Moore.
Veda Moore married Arthur John Henry, Jr. 3 July 1940 in Michigan. Arthur Henry was born 8 July 1918 at Detroit, Michigan. Arthur's father was Arthur John Henry, Sr., born in 1895 in Michigan, and his mother was Ruth Elizabeth Carney, born 10 April 1892 at Detroit, Michigan. Arthur Sr. and Ruth lived at Detroit. Arthur was a pattern-maker. He and Ruth had only the one son, Arthur John Henry, Jr. Arthur Henry Sr. died in December 1918 at the age of twenty-three years, when his son Arthur Jr. was only five months old. Burial is at Elmwood Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan. Ruth Henry married second a Mr. Zimmerman. From this marriage were born four children:. 643. PETER STOLTZ
Peter Stoltz was born 10 September 1844 at Stoltz Prairie, Lick Prairie Precinct, Wabash County, Illinois, was the son of George Johann Stoltz and Margaret Hinkle. See Number 64 for Hinkle Family Lineage.
Peter Stoltz grew up on his father's farm and helped his father as a young man. He joined the Jordan Creek Lutheran Church about two miles southwest of Lancaster, Illinois, when a young boy. He also attended a rural district school, probably Buzzard Roost School one-half mile south and one-and-one-half miles east of his home. Peter left his father's farm and went to Wayne County, near Merriam and Golden Gate, Illinois, where his older brother Andrew had gone to live.
Peter married Mary L. King in 1872 in Wayne County, Illinois. Peter, like his father, was a farmer. Peter and Mary Stoltz had two children.

Peter and Mary were divorced while the two children were quite young. The court gave Peter custody of the children. Mary then married Newt Phelps and moved to Missouri. Peter's brother Andrew and his wife Josephine, who lived near Peter, helped him with his two young children. In 1885 tragedy struck Peter's life a second time. John, his son of age nine, contracted a child's disease and died in his arms 3 July 1885.
In 1893 Peter married second Louella Thomas Boaz in Wayne County, Illinois. Louella was born 10 August 1864. From this union in marriage twins were born.

The day following the birth of the twins, 26 March 1894, their mother, Louella Thomas Stoltz died. Burial of Louella and the infant son is at Union Cemetery, Wayne County, Illinois.
The death of Louella and infant son was a third great trauma in Peter's life, but his faith and trust in Jesus Christ was undaunted. Emma, his older daughter had a child, John, and she helped her father care for the baby Louella, her half-sister. Peter's brother Andrew and his wife Josephine also gave their help and care when needed.
On 27 January 1901 Peter married third Clara Ann Berst. Clara was born 29 December 1859 at Union Deposit, Pennsylvania. Clara's father was John D. Berst, born in 1839, and her mother was Mary Ellenberger, born 16 December 1837; both born in Pennsylvania. When Clara was six year old (1865) John Berst and his family moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and then to Wayne County, Illinois, seven miles east of Fairfield, where they settled on a farm near Peter Stoltz's farm. John and Mary Berst had six children. John died in 1915 and Mary died 23 November 1875; burial at Union Cemetery, Wayne, Illinois.
Clara (Berst) Stoltz at the age of sixteen assumed much of the responsibility of caring for her brothers and sisters. When she was a young girl she joined the Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Peter and Clara had no children. They lived a happy life together. Peter Stoltz died 13 February 1926; burial at Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Wayne County, Illinois. Peter was a member of this church. He was known as 'Uncle Peter' to all of his friends and neighbors. Peter was a loving husband, kind father, and a good neighbor. He was a devout Christian and lived an exemplary Christian life. Clara, Peter's wife, died 23 July 1934 at the home of her niece, Mrs. V. B. Albrecht, Dayton, Ohio. She is buried with her husband at the Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Wayne County, Illinois.

Garcia Frank Newman was born 10 July 1915 near Elizabethtown, Hardin County, Illinois, is the son of George Wells Newman and Emma Stoltz. See Number 6431. Garcia attended the rural school and Methodist Church near his home.
Garcia Newman married Joyce Lightner 2 September 1942 in Saline County, Illinois. Joyce was born 11 May 1918 at Harrisburg, Illinois. Her father was James Cody Lightner, born 3 March 1888 in Pope County, Illinois, and her mother was Bertha Katherine Belford, born 9 March 1891 at Lusk, Illinois. James and Bertha Lightner lived at Harrisburg, Illinois. They were members of the Baptist Church. James was a postman. He died 18 August 1968 at Paso Robles, California, and Bertha died 31 January 1945. Both are buried at Sunset Lawn Cemetery, Harrisburg, Illinois. James and Bertha Lightner had four children: (1) *Joyce (Newman), (2) Katherine Needra (Vaughn), (3) Mary Jacqueline (Hutchinson), and (4) Doris Jean (died a few hours after birth; burial at Sunset Lawn Cemetery, Harrisburg, Illinois.)

Emma Stoltz was born 24 September 1874 near Golden Gate, Wayne County, Illinois, was the daughter of Peter Stoltz and Mary L. King. See Number 643. Emma Stoltz joined the Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church when a young girl. She attended the Beech Bluff School and grew to womanhood on her father's farm.
Emma Stoltz was united in marriage to George Wells Newman 9 July 1896 in Wayne County, Illinois. George was born 7 March 1877 in Kentucky. He was the son of John Louis Newman, born 9 March 1844, and Elizabeth Ogden; both born in Virginia. John and Elizabeth Newman moved from Virginia to Kentucky and then to Illinois and settled on a farm near Fairfield. Here Elizabeth died. John later moved to Elizabethtown, Hardin County, Illinois. Here he died on 16 September 1935; burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Elizabethtown, Illinois. John and Elizabeth Newman were members of the Methodist Church. They had two sons: (1) *George Wells and (2) Edward.
George and Emma Newman lived on a farm near Golden Gate, Illinois. Here all of their children were born. In 1912 George and his family, along with his father, moved to Hardin County, near Elizabethtown, Illinois. He and Emma lived on a farm the remainder of their lives. George was also a carpenter. Emma Newman died 11 February 1918 and George died 6 October 1946; burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Elizabethtown, Illinois. George and Emma were members of the Methodist Church. George and Emma had nine children; eight were born on the farm near Golden Gate, Illinois, and the two youngest were born near Elizabethtown, Illinois. Emma had a son, John, before her marriage to George Newman.

John Granville Stoltz was born 18 February 1894 near Golden Gate, Wayne County, Illinois, is the son of Emma Stoltz. See Number 6431. John grew up on his grandfather's farm in Wayne County, Illinois. He attended the Beech Bluff School and Union Presbyterian Church. In 1912 his mother and stepfather moved from Wayne to Hardin County, Illinois. John served in the infantry in World War I. After his discharge from the U.S. Army, John married Blanche Audre Tindall in Randolph County, Illinois. Blanche was born 29 December 1894 at Chester, Illinois. Her father was Jacob Marion Tindall, born 19 July 1859 near Chester, Illinois, and her mother was Chloe Elizabeth Tope, born 8 June 1863 at Rockford, Illinois. Jacob and Chloe Tindall lived on a farm near Chester, Illinois. They were members of the Methodist Church. Jacob and Chloe Tindall were school teachers and Jacob was postmaster at Chester, Illinois. Jacob and Chloe Tindall had ten children: (1) Eugene, (2) Eva Ruth (Corder), (3) Harry Dean, (4) Carolyn (twin to Harry), (5) Paul, (6) Blanche Audre (Stoltz), (7) Harold Herbert, (8) Howard Edward (a second set of twins), (9) Alice Helen (Weubbenhorst) and (10) Elbert Noble.
John and Blanche Stoltz left Chester, Illinois in the early 1920's and moved to Lincoln, Illinois, where John took a Civil Service job at the Lincoln State School as barber, the position he held until his retirement in 1965.
John was active in various community organizations. He was a member of the American Legion for forty-nine years, having served as Post Commander. In 1854 he was Grand Chef De Gare of Illinois Forty and Eight. John was a Master Mason for forty-three years, member of the Masonic Lodge of Lincoln, Ill. He was a 32 degree Mason of the Scottish Rites Body and Shriner, member of the Ansar Shrine Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S. of Springfield, Illinois. In June of 1963 he was honored as Lincoln Courier man of the month.
John and Blanche Stoltz had three children all born in Lincoln, Illinois.

Her father was Thomas Amon Douglas, born 1 October 1885, and her mother was Mabel Matheny, born 14 December 1884; both born at Broughton, Ill. Thomas and Mabel resided at Lincoln, Illinois. They were members of the Methodist Church. Thomas was a mental health technician at the Lincoln State School. Thomas and Mabel had four children: (1) *Pauline (Stoltz), (2) Kathleen (Lewis), (3) Glen H., and (4) James E. Thomas Douglas died 24 May 1967 and Mabel died 7 April 1976; burial at Union Cemetery, Lincoln, Illinois.
John and Pauline had no children. John Stoltz died 16 August 1967; burial at Union Cemetery, Lincoln, Illinois. Pauline resides at Lincoln, Illinois.

Bertha Newman married William Carroll Reed 25 December 1915 in Hardin County, Illinois. William was born 17 November 1886 in Hardin County. William's father was Rufus Radcliff Reed, born 26 October 1865, and his mother was Margaret Ellen Colbert, born 9 July 1865; both born in Hardin County, Ill. Rufus and Margaret Reed were farmers. They were members of the Presbyterian Church. They had nine children: (1) *William Carroll, (2) Mary, (3) Sarah Ann, (4) Cecil Ezra, (5) Hester, (6) Elsa Pearl, (7) Ula, (8) Ewell Thomas, and (9) Arthur. Rufus Reed died 6 October 1949 and Margaret died 29 November 1941; burial at Central Cemetery, Hardin County, Illinois.
William and Bertha Reed were farmers. Bertha died 25 February 1918 at only twenty-two years of age. Burial is at Central Cemetery, Hardin County, Illinois. William and Bertha had no children. William remarried and moved to Indiana. He died 7 July 1970; burial is at Winamac, Pulaski County, Ind.

He attended the Beech Bluff School and Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In 1912 his family left their farm in Wayne County* Illinois, and moved to Hardin County, Illinois, near Elizabethtown.
Woodson Newman married Millie Joyce 19 August 1923 in Hardin County, Ill. Millie Joyce was born 1 July 1905 at Elizabethtown, Illinois. Her father was George W. Joyce, born 10 September 1866 in Tennessee, and her mother was Ella Shipp, born 8 October 1876 in Hardin County, Illinois. George and Ella Joyce lived near Elizabethtown, Illinois. They were members of the Presbyterian Church. George was a farmer. He and Ella had nine children: (1) Olga (Sturgill), (2) Alfred, (3) William Alvin (deceased), (4) Clifford (deceased), (5) George W., (6) Marie, who married Walter Newman (see below), (7) Millie (Newman). Due to Millie's health, about 1929 or 1930 they moved to Stockton, California, for a milder climate. Woodson had a job waiting at the Stockton State Hospital. Woodson and Millie are are members of the Presbyterian Church. They live at Stockton, California. Woodson and Millie had three sons.

James Newman married Donna Carroll Bruner 31 March 1949 at Stockton, California. Donna was born 16 August 1930 at Ft. Scott, Bourbon County, Kansas. Her father was Virtus Roland Bruner, born 4 August 1906 at Fairfield, Nebraska, and her mother is Mary Bernice Ford, born 23 November 1908 at Dodge City, Kansas. Virtus and Mary last resided in California. They were members of the Baptist Church. Virtus was first a farmer, then a lumberman, and before retirement, a building janitor. He died 15 November 1971; burial at the Los Gatos Cemetery, Los Gatos, California. Mary resides at San Jose, Calif. Virtus and Mary Bruner had two children: (1) *Donna Carroll (Newman) and (2) Waneta Fern.

Fred and Erma Goodland had only the one son, Robert Wayne.
Robert and Donna (Newman) Goodland live at Yreka, California. Donna was a medical transcriber for twenty-two years. She is now in the design and sales of needlework.
