61. EVA MARIA STOLTZ Eva Maria Stoltz was born 16 January 1808 at Kutzenhausen, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France. Eva is the daughter of Johann Adam Stoltz and Maria Eva Jordi. See Number 111162. Eva Stoltz is of the seventh generation of the Stoltz family in Elsass-Lothringen, Germany, now Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France, and the second generation in America. Eva was christened in the Lutheran Church at Kutzenhausen, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France. She was called by the affectionate name, ‘Vieve’. Eva Maria Stoltz was united in marriage to Georg Friedrich Marx 17 July 1827 in the Lutheran Church at Kutzenhausen, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France. Georg Friedrich was born 6 October 1806 at Reimersweiler, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France. In France Georg Friedrich was a day laborer. July 17, 1827 there were married in the church Georg Friedrich Marx, son of Martin Marx, day laborer at Reimersweiler, and Margareta Jordi, a married couple, and Eva Stoltz, daughter of Adam Stoltz, shepherd at Feldbach, and Eva Jordi, a married couple. Georg Friedrich was always called ‘Freddie’ or ‘Fred’. Fred’s father was Johann Martin Marx, born 11 December 1773 at Reimersweiler, Elsass-Lothringen, Germany, now Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France. Johann Marx went by his middle name, Martin. He died in 1837, nine years after his son came to America. No information on Fred’s mother, Maria Margaretha (Jordi) Marx. She was a sister to Johann Adam Stoltz’s wife, Maria Eva Jordi. Fred’s grandfather was Philip Heinrich Marx, born about 1729 at Preuschdorf, Elsass-Lothringen, Germany. He was a tailor. Philip Heinrich Marx married Eva Margaretha Wilhelm. Eva Wilhelm was born about 1734 at Klimbach, Elsass-Lothringen, Germany. Philip Heinrich Marx died 15 March 1779; burial is at Reimersweiler, Elsass-Lothringen, Germany. Eva Margaretha, his wife, died in 1793; burial place not given, but most likely at Reimersweiler.
