    • 113. THEOBOLDT STOLTZ
Theoboldt Stoltz, son of Johann Balthasar Stoltz and Maria Catharina Schumann, was born about 1698 or 1700, Oberbetschdorf, Elsass-Lothringen, Germany.
Theoboldt Stoltz married Margaretha Wagner 4 May 1723 at Oberbetschdorf, Elsass-Lothringen, Germany, Margaretha Wagner was christened 19 April 1705 at Niederbetschdorf, Elsass-Lothringen, Germany. Margaretha probably was born 17 April 1705.
At this date it is safe to presume that most of the Stoltz family were Lutherans. The Lutherans strongly believed their babies should be christened no later than three days after birth. If a child died before being christened, they believed this child would not go to heaven.
Margaretha Wagner’s father was Hans Wagner Jr., born about 23 November 1671 at Oberbetschdorf, Elsass-Lothringen, Germany, and her mother was Anna Maria Sturm. See Number M-122, page 38.
Theoboldt and Margaretha Stoltz had an only son.
1131. Georg Jacob Stoltz, born 8 August 1723 at Oberbetschdorf, Elsass-Lothringen, Germany. See page 14.
Theoboldt Stoltz died 10 November 1724, a young man. Burial is at Oberbetschdorf, Elsass-Lothringen, Germany. No information on Margaretha’s second marriage, other children or her death.
